11 Timeless Peak Performance Reminders for Leaders

This post is inspired by another post by one of the titans of the advertising industry – Kevin Roberts. You can read the original post here.

Here are my peak performance reminders for leaders:

  1. Start your day with intent.
  2. Be humble. Remember that as a leader you are here to serve the cause and the people you lead.
  3. Your number one responsibility is to create more leaders worth following.
  4. Stay inspired. You can’t inspire others if you are not inspired.
  5. Listen with intent. This can be one of the most productive use of your time.
  6. Be aware of when you need to lead, when to manage, when to delegate, when to coach, when to mentor and when to apply the breaks.
  7. Remember – whom you promote and whom you fire determines the culture you create. So, be intentional about the culture you want to create.
  8. As Gilbert Enoka said, you need three bones as a leader – Wish bone, Back bone and a funny bone. Dont forget to have fun along the way.
  9. AIR – Authority paired with Intention and responsibility leads to action.
  10. Always encourage and rewards people to bring up red flags early.
  11. Be loyal to inspire loyalty!
