James Robertson shares a must read on the temptation among communicators to abandon the rust of their intranets for the promise of social and collaboration tools promised in abundance "out there."

Josh Bersin's research points to the average organization supporting 11 systems of record, "with new apps for wellbeing, engagement, Goldfeedback, recognition, performance management, learning and even pay launching every day."

Point of fact - the TemboSocial customers that I speak to every day are not looking for more platforms.

They are searching for smarter integrations with the platforms they've already invested in. If they're in IT, this is less a quest and much more of a mandate.

The intranet remains a key tool for connecting companies and improving internal communications.
