Awareness Leads to Wellness

I spoke yesterday with a global insurance company that had built their brand (in part) on how they treat their employees and the high value they place on employee wellness. PROBLEM: employees weren't aware of what wellness really looked like.

Wellness

To begin, they wanted to ensure that employees were taking their vacation days since they had a history of carryover days, demonstrating that folks were not getting the time off they needed during the year.

Simple as it may sound, they ran a campaign on their intranet that led employees to a vacation request FORM (using TemboSocial Feedback, of course!) that sent confirmation receipts to employees and notifications to the vacation planner.

They next ran a QUIZ to see what employee's knew about the vacation policies that educated participants about what they were entitled to.

They next ran POLLS asking staff to to vote for their ideal vacation or to select the images of the exotic vacation destinations they most wish to visit someday.

As employers we try our best to create working environments that allow our people to be healthy, happy and productive.

Awareness is a critical step in that journey. Without it, no one gets where they want to go.
