Is allowing the class to vote out other class members ever a good instructional technique?

Xplaner

Over in my other blog where I talk about everything, I made this post about a kindergarten teacher in Florida who had her class vote on whether they thought a little boy who had been sent to the office should be allowed to come back to class. I just joined ASTD

Xplaner

I just joined ASTD - the American Society for Training and Development. I was inspired after reading the Engaged Learning blog and chatting with the author for a bit. He is the head of the Social Learning Special Interest Group for one of ASTD’s chapters. So, are there any other ASTD members out there? How active is ASTD in the Boston Metro-West area?

This often ends up involving meticulous adjustments to prompts.

Why PowerPoint rules the business world

A CALL FOR VISUAL LITERACY. In many organizations, the beginning and end of any business activity is marked by the PowerPoint presentation. In the early stages of an initiative, PowerPoint is used in strategy sessions, to present proposals and put forth plans. Later, it's used for updates and progress reports. In the final stages, it's used to report back and to present findings and conclusions.
