Stop SOPA PIPA – Lack of Internet Understanding by US Congress

Censorship - see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, sopa pipa

I’m generally not the type to go stage a sit in, but I’ll be attending tomorrow’s protests against SOPA  PIPA. And this site will go dark tomorrow in solidarity with Wikipedia, Reddit, and others.

For those of you who may not know SOPA PIPA, the US Congress is once again demonstrating it’s complete lack of internet understanding by drafting a law that potentially opens up some lovely security holes and nice legal DoS possibilities. Perhaps they are trying to stop the kittens from clogging up the intertubes.

Of course, this is at the bequest of their corporate overlords so that should make you feel warm and fuzzy. But if by some chance this aggravates you, be sure to join your local protests. [UPDATE: Ummm…the protests were fun!]

If you’d like to know more about SOPA, Quora has some nice pieces on it, and will not be blacked out tomorrow.

Congress has already taken away the right to habeas corpus. Let’s not loose our freedom of speech.
