As part of its efforts to innovate and maintain a leading position in its market Singapore Airlines (SIA) is ramping up its open innovation endeavors.

Through its Digital Innovation Blueprint, the carrier is forging key partnerships with the National University of Singapore and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore among many others. Also on its agenda is a strengthening of its internal open innovation culture.

To this end, SIA is putting employees at the center of this new digital blueprint. Staff will be encouraged to participate in a variety of digital projects and they will also be supported through digital training, such as courses in digital innovation.

A Digital Innovation Lab is also going to be set up through which staff can collaborate with innovative companies, including start-ups and accelerators to stimulate and grow new ideas.
