The digital procurement portal for the public sector

Launched in 2012, the G-Cloud Framework is a multi-supplier vehicle for the purchase of cloud-based IT Services by Central Government and the wider public sector.  Developed to streamline the procurement of external digital services, it’s the only portal through which UK public sector bodies can access commercially available software and services.

Like its predecessor, G-Cloud 10, the G-Cloud 11 (G11) framework has three ‘lots’ for digital service listings, which help clarify differences between software provision and software support. Bubble again applied to provide Cloud Software (Lot 2) and Cloud Support services (Lot 3), and successfully achieved both. A third lot, Cloud Hosting (Lot 1), exists for technology infrastructure providers.

Further clarifications to the categorization of services in the past year also mean that G-Cloud 11 suppliers can also now be filtered by a wider range of criteria, for example, ISO/IEC 27001 (service security) compliance, something that Bubble achieved in 2017.

Announcing Bubble’s 4th consecutive, and successful, application to the G11 framework, Peter Hoyland said that “The arrival of G-Cloud 11, marks the point where public sector procurement of Cloud Software through G-Cloud could reach £1bn. As with previous year’s, we’re very pleased that Crown Commercial Services have again selected Bubble to be a part of the G-Cloud framework and we’re proud to continue to be a part of the UK Government’s flagship Digital Marketplace”.
