#1,904 – The Dawn of the Pandemic Era

Greatest. Idea. Ever.

What if COVID-19 is just the beginning, just the tip of the iceberg? The initial wake up call that we are about to find ourselves at the mercy of various pandemics every few years or so from here on out? The result of human behavior that is out of control, unable to coexist in harmony with nature. Sound far-fetched? It shouldn’t. Futurism sums up our forthcoming plight best: “Dr.

#1,906 – Real Life Wakanda

Greatest. Idea. Ever.

The other day I wrote about Whoopi Goldberg’s proposal to add a Wakanda Theme Park to Disney World. But F that. Why settle for a small scale theme park when you can recreate the real thing in Africa?! That’s right. We could soon have a real world Wakanda, based in Senegal, thanks to a plan put in place by R&B singer Akon who has raised some of the $5 billion needed to pull off the project to go along with 2,000 acres of land that Senegal gifted to him, within a five minute drive

A scary situation that has landed the mystery man in hot water with the FBI. As the LA Times puts it: “It sounds like something out of a movie: An American Airlines pilot calls the control tower at Los Angeles International Airport to warn that his plane just flew past someone in midair — a person wearing a jet pack.

Software leaders who are building applications based on Large Language Models (LLMs) often find it a challenge to achieve reliability. It’s no surprise given the non-deterministic nature of LLMs. To effectively create reliable LLM-based (often with RAG) applications, extensive testing and evaluation processes are crucial. This often ends up involving meticulous adjustments to prompts.

#1,905 – The Three Body Problem

Greatest. Idea. Ever.

The Three Body Problem is the greatest Science Fiction story you’ve never heard of. Or at least it was until Netflix recently announced that Game of Thrones show runners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were set to adapt the award-winning Chinese Sci-Fi novel about an impending alien invasion for audiences. Cue the hype train. Explains Quartz : “Over three books, author Liu Cixin tells the story of the ultimate betrayal of humanity by a group of people who invite an alien invasion of Ear
