It is not just for innovation application, that can determine innovation activities. It has multiple values in any organization thinking and alignment. The 3H informs the decisions to be taken, by recognizing their importance to the future and ‘frame’ resource allocation, identify current capability gaps to resolve.

For instance, we don’t want to assume that our current proposed solution is the best use of resources until we’ve prototyped and tested it. We have full permission to go back to the drawing board as failure is cheap in Design Thinking, and isn’t considered failure at all, but instead it’s feedback.
