For most people, pregnancy comes with new physical limitations, and it can be hard to work through them — especially if you pride yourself on being able to “do it all.” The author presents five ways to pace yourself at work during pregnancy. First, be honest with yourself about how much work you’re capable of, and look to trusted friends or colleagues to reassure you that it’s okay to slow down. Second, let go of the binary thinking around work and look for compromises that allow you to offload some of your tasks. Third, regularly audit your calendar and drop unnecessary meetings. Fourth, set three achievable work goals each day, and give yourself grace if you’re not able to achieve them. Finally, be ready to say no more often.
