Schumpeter saw “creative destruction” as the renewing, through innovation, society’s dynamics that would lead to higher economic development and welfare levels. Pressures suddenly built.

The fact of the matter is, Schumpeter's 'creative destruction' will occur more rapidly and more frequently, and we need to be anticipating disruptive innovation, if not simply welcoming it and accepting it. That's the natural order of things.

I was scanning through my Twitter feed when I came upon a tweet where someone was excitedly welcoming disruption in the financial sector. Strangely, it was from an individual employed in the traditional banking sector. My response is that disruption is something you want to create or anticipate, rather than welcome and react to.
